2011 ANNUAL TOP 10 INTERACTIVE MARKETING TRENDS:
THE RETURN TO HIEROGLYPHICS IS AVAILABLE TODAY AT www.h2central.ca

(TORONTO, March 9, 2011) – H2 Central Marketing and Communications has just released its 2011 Annual Top 10 Interactive Marketing Trends: The Return to Hieroglyphics, predicting that rapid-fire, moving and punctuated visual and symbolic marketing will be the single biggest web trend of the year. The booklet is available at www.h2central.ca
Among the other Top 10 Interactive Marketing Trends are: Social Media and ROI; Google Datingand To App or Not to App.
According to Christine Saunders, H2’s Vice-President of Interactive Marketing and one of Canada’s foremost experts in methodologies that successfully persuade end-users to change their behaviour and use emerging technologies, “Technology is changing so fast, it can be really confusing for marketers. We use hieroglyphics as a metaphor to describe an intense step in the evolution of communications — as a way to help marketers know what to do and to help them understand what they should be striving for.”
The annual interactive trend tracker also suggests to marketers and advertisers the specific actions to take that will help them and their clients cut through the crowd, the clutter and the buzz to make real and grounded business case-driven decisions.
The 2011 Annual Top 10 Interactive Marketing Trends: The Return to Hieroglyphics refers to the quickening pace of communications and its digital implications to become shorter and more visual. Shorter and more visual are the new rules, says Saunders. “You can’t go fast when you read online. Reading online is 22% slower than on paper. Everything is going symbolic, visual and interactive, all in the name of speed and comprehension.”
H2’s trends take into account the competing press releases, blogs and spin doctors’ take on Google, Microsoft, Apple, Flash and everything in-between to separate the bravado from the truth. “Most of what you hear and read is just noise and it’s easy to get caught up in it,” emphasizes Saunders. “You will either be paralyzed or make bad decisions.”
H2 Central is a full-service marketing and communications agency located in downtown Toronto. The company’s team of highly-skilled strategic integrated marketing experts develops, designs and implements programs to promote and support a roster of specialized client products and services in financial services, technology and regulated industries.
